Custom Electrode Manufacturing with Pure Platinum
PLATINODE® consists of refractory metals such as Titanium and Niobium, coated with the highest purity Platinum. The electrochemically active catalytic layer of Platinum or other precious metal oxides is widely used in most electrochemical industries.
The Platinum coating is produced using High-Temperature Electrolysis (HTE). Platinum is deposited from molten cyanide salt baths at temperatures of 500–600 °C. The resulting functional Platinum layer provides excellent adhesion, high ductility, and maximum purity. Thick Platinum coatings with outstanding corrosion resistance and long service life can be produced.
Refractory metals such as Titanium, Niobium, Tantalum, Molybdenum, and Tungsten are commonly used as substrates for PLATINODE® manufacturing. In addition, selected specialty steels and iron/nickel alloys are also used. Substrates can be in the form of plates, expanded metal, round bars, tubes, wires, strips, and various materials and dimensions according to DIN and ASTM standards.
