ARGUNA® 3230 Cyanide-free Fine Silver Electrolyte

Pure Silver Plating Solution

ARGUNA® 3230 is an alkaline, cyanide-free silver plating solution used to plate functional technical silver layers. The coating is also suitable for decorative applications.

Since the solution contains no toxic cyanide compounds, its use becomes easier under increasingly stringent environmental and safety requirements. In particular, in medical technology, cyanide-free systems are often required.

The resulting coating is highly suitable for soldering and wire bonding applications as well as electrical contacts, for example in power electronics or high-current technology.

ARGUNA® 3230 is ideal for rack and barrel operation. Copper substrates can be plated directly without a pre-silver strike.

Solution Properties

• Solution type: Alkaline, cyanide-free
• Metal content: 20 (18–22) g/l
• pH value: 9.5 (9.2–9.8)
• Operating temperature: 50 (45–55) °C
• Current density range: 0.5–1.5 A/dm²
• Plating speed: 1 μm in 1.5 minutes at 1.0 A/dm²

• Coating hardness: 90–100 HV in as-plated condition
• Maximum coating thickness: Bright coating up to 10 μm; thickness >10 μm results in semi-matte surface
• Coating density: Approx. 10.5 g/cm³
