International Standards RoHS / REACH / TCVN

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances):

Purpose: To restrict the use of six main hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products in order to protect health and the environment.

Restricted substances: Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs).

Scope of application: Electrical and electronic equipment circulating on the EU market

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals):
Purpose: To ensure that chemicals are manufactured and used in a manner that is safe for human health and the environment.
Scope of application: Broader than RoHS, applying to most consumer products sold on the EU market, including not only electronic products but also casings, paints and chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
National Standards

TCVN (Tiêu chuẩn Việt Nam):

Purpose: To ensure products meet regulations on hazardous chemical substances in the Vietnamese market, which are generally developed based on international standards such as RoHS and REACH.
